QFD Explorer Post Elections and Awards Night

Our last Explorer post meeting before schools out was this week. To make things a little better though it was our elections and awards night! First we took the QFD boat out on the Mississippi for a joy ride and let me tell you, I don’t know how you can live in this town and not own a boat.

When we got back The Post Chiefs parents brought deserts and drinks to celebrate her last meeting with the post which was super sweet. Chief started out with elections for her position. I had talked about running and I had decided I was going to. I didn’t know how things would go since I have only been in the post for 7 months, but I gave a little speech and then after the other nominee spoke we waited for the results and…… I made chief!

On top of that I came home with ribbons in: Tenure, Ropes and Knots, Perfect Attendance, and the best of all, Explorer of the year! They will all go on my dress uniform. It was an amazing night and a great start for the summer.
