While the world has flipped upside down for most of us in the last few weeks, I felt the need to log on and talk about things to do while we are social distancing. A perfect and high standard set for us would be that of William Shakespeare and Sir Isaac Newton.

Shakespeare went into quarantine (social distancing) when the Bubonic plague hit in England where he lived, the poet, playwright, and actor proceeded to write Venus and Adonis in 1593, and during another outbreak in 1606, Shakespeare managed to push out King Lear, Macbeth, and Antony and Cleopatra.

Isaac Newton went into quarantine after his university shut down amid the bubonic plague in 1665. During his time in quarantine, Newton studied on his own from what he learned while attending university; this led to his discovery of Calculus, Newton’s Theory of Gravity, and the Theory of Optics.

Although they both set the bar pretty high as far as how they spent their time amidst quarintine, we can still take our time in quarantine and use it for the best. I have put together a list of 50 things you can do while social distancing that is completely free. Feel free to submit additional suggestions in the comments.
